October 22, 2021

Toby Passman joins me today at talk all about the brain. It's  pretty fascinating conversation about a non invasive way of helping the brain. We have a pretty great conversation about neuoplasticity

Toby Pasman is the founder of Roscoe’s Wetsuit Neuro and host of the Roscoe’s Wetsuit Neuro Podcast. He is a neurophysiology researcher with a Master’s of Psychology from Lynn University and is board-certified in QEEG Brain Mapping and EEG Neurofeedback. Toby enjoys paddle boarding along the intracoastal, biking through the surrounding islands of Miami, and engaging in deep, intellectual conversations.

This is a fascinating and Toby does a really great job explaining how all this works. There are certain ways to change the brain activity.

You can learn more about Toby and how he helps here through his website.

I mentioned the episode with Cindy Shaw about Better brain health.

Mindset is KEY: What I learned from My Second Ballroom dance competition

Mindset is KEY: What I learned from My Second Ballroom dance competition

October 16, 2021

As many of you know if you listen to this podcast and follow me on social media,

I took up ballroom dance lessons last July during the pandemic. I always have loved music and know I can dance if I have a good lead.

I've learned a tremendous amount about dance and about myself and I've seen that dancing is just a metaphor for life.

A couple past episodes I mentioned here.

What ballroom dance has taught me.

Red Light Stories: What I learned at my first Ballroom dance competition

I decided to compete in another competition in September and I decided to go into it with a whole new mindset. And what a difference it made.

I had these thoughts while in Michigan with our son, helping him move in. So I recorded this. A little rough on the sound....but my thoughts none the same.

My journal is now available . Do you journal? Listen to the episode to hear how journaling helped me.

And order your today here.

Thank you for listening today.

October 1, 2021

Thrilled to have this conversation with Dai Manuel this day. Check him out if you have not heard about him. You will find him on all social: linked in, FB and IG.

As my intention is to interview and have my guests share their nuggets of wisdom, this conversation was filled with lots of question Dai had for me. Quite a dialogue filled with wisdom about parenting, Relationships with our spouses, finding clarity that will lead you to the confidence of what you do want.

Dia Manuel has much knowledge that he shares about the Positive Drive Mechanism and the Freedom Model Triad. Our freedom to choose is very powerful.

He mentions the book Mans search for Meaning by Victor Frankl.

Honored to share the mic with Dai Manuel today and know you will love our conversation. Check him out at Dai Manuel.com

Jean LaVallie: Community and Support Leads to Success

Jean LaVallie: Community and Support Leads to Success

September 24, 2021

Jean LaVallie was feeling unsupported and longed for connecting with other women. So she founded WESOS, Women Entrepreneur Stories of Success.

Today is a thriving Women only networking group with several chapters in 4 states as well as a virtual platform.

I met Jean many years ago when I was invited to one of her chapters. I've stayed because I do feel the support and love being there to learn and support other women Entrepreneurs. .

We talk today about the importance of Community. So many today are lacking connection and community and honestly many women are lonely today. And this pandemic has separated us even more. Jean and I share this passion for providing a community when women feel supported and loved.

Imagine if you surrounded yourself with women who refused to let you fail. That is the moto that Jean adopted and keeps today.

I know you will enjoy our conversation.

If you are interested in attending an upcoming WESOS meeting, check out the website.

If you are interested in learning more about being a wellness entrepreneur, contact me today and let's chat. You can set up a virtual coffee here.

Talk, Feel and Rock the Boat: Abigail Jones therapist share how her recovery defined not only her life during struggle but how she now helps others take the shame out of recovery

September 10, 2021

My niece Cailyn referred me to Abigail Jones as someone who was instrumental in her recovery . Abby now is a therapist and so passionate about conversations about the anti-diet culture and taking the shame out of recovery.

You can hear Cailyns interview here.

Today we have a great conversation about so many things.

ADHD

Eating disorders just being a symptom of the underlying problem.

Shame in recovery

The issues with identity

Internal family systems

How eating disorders do not discriminate

Sober living environments and so much more.

It's a great conversation and I know you will love it.

Please share with anyone you feel needs to hear this message too.

Abigail works currently with Doorways in Arizona. You can find her here and a whole host of other therapist  and helpers.

I mention the Weight  of Gold A powerful documentary by Michael Phelps. They speak about identity and the struggle of the olympic athletes. It's so good.

A Call to a suicide hotline and years of struggle led Jen Debe on a mission of sharing hope for those who struggle with their mental health

A Call to a suicide hotline and years of struggle led Jen Debe on a mission of sharing hope for those who struggle with their mental health

September 3, 2021

My friend Jen Debe joins me today for a real conversation about mental health. I am blessed to call Jen friend and so impressed by the work she is doing to help increase awareness.

Jen Debe has struggled with mental illness for over 20 years.  In 1998, She was diagnosed with major depression and generalized anxiety disorder, one month after starting a new career.  A call to the suicide crisis hotline, followed by years of struggling to pinpoint a medication that would work for her put her on a lifelong mission to talk openly about her personal experiences dealing mental illness to let others know they were not alone.

In 2020, Covid-19 caused many people to feel isolated during quarantine and the cases of mental illness, suicide, addiction, and abuse skyrocketed, with rates predicted to rise. Due to the intense effects of Covid Jen’s heart called her to launch HTG, Happiness through Grace,  to promote happiness, change the narrative of mental health and donate funds to help non-profits with the overwhelming influx of cases.

You can find her at her site Happiness Through Grace

If you or someone you know needs helps, Please call someone. or the Suicide prevention hotline at. 800-273-8255!!!

What about that Roller Coaster: Real talk from Moyra

What about that Roller Coaster: Real talk from Moyra

August 27, 2021

I was traveling home from Michigan after spending the day with my son, his fiance and her mother. We were checking out some wedding venues.

I was thinking a lot and started sharing about the Roller Coaster  of this life I live .

I have mentioned before the idea of getting off the roller coaster of something in your life who is struggling, There are ups and downs in any eating disorder world of recovery as well as with other addictions and struggles. Part of what I've learned is the importance of detachment and staying neutral.

Spending time with Paul and talking about his upcoming wedding trigger some things for me and I wanted to share my thoughts....in the car...before I got home

Enjoy

I am SO excited to announce that my Journey to Joy journal is complete. Here it is and ready to order.

Journey has been and continues to be an important part of my life and healing journey. This journal reflects what I love to do each day and I hope you find it a place you can share your thoughts, dreams and process through some things. Order up and consider sharing it as a gift.
