October 16, 2020

For over 6 years my daughter has struggling with anorexia. It has been a terrible struggle for her as well as the impact that it has had on the family.

She has tried many treatment facilitates , most that have helped some yet the cycle of struggle continues. Today I come to you from the parking lot of Ohare Airport as one more time she goes to another treatment place. I share my raw thoughts , the highs and the lows.

As she chooses one more place to help her, I am hopeful yet scared about her recovery.

I have learned to trust in a higher power during these times and surrender to that.

If you have or had someone struggling with ED, I am sure you can relate.

I pray for the day that no one else has to suffer from this terrible disorder.

And if you are a mom or dad in this situation, make sure you are taking care of yourself. Find a therapist, create a morning routine and find time to fill your cup up.

Ruth Day:Shares about the masks she wore and how she showed up for many year before she sought sobriety. And We talk a lot of yoga

October 9, 2020

My friend Ruth Day sits down , with Picasso her bird on her shoulder to share about her story of addiction . Many time she walked in to a room wondering which mask to where. And the idea that she might have a drinking problem and might repeat some of her generational patterns was not what she expected.

As the lotus flower is.....having to get through the muck and mud to bloom....Ruth has been through her fair share of the muck and mud.

Ruth is a dear friend who can go deep about all the things and one of them is yoga today. She has taught me so much about what coming to the mat is all about and how it can truly be a healing place. Settle in . We have a nice chat

Wellness Wednesday: Plant Based Eating. A chat with Betsy Bruns, Food advocate and Wellness Educator

Wellness Wednesday: Plant Based Eating. A chat with Betsy Bruns, Food advocate and Wellness Educator

September 16, 2020

Betsy Bruns and I sit down for a chat about Plant based eating. She shares so much great knowledge and tidbits that I was so inspired. Betsy has her own story and her own journey which led her to the plant based eating life that she lives and educates on. We both share our passion for helping others live healthier lives by making smart health choices

Using an innovative “forks and fingertips” approach by combining the power of plant-based nutrition and EFT tapping, Betsy guides others in making daily choices that enrich your life and assist in preventing or reversing disease.

Guiding and inspiring clients to shift their behavior to healthier habits by first meeting them where they are at, and then co-creating step-by-step changes. This can be done person-to-person or in a group dynamic.

Whether working with clients individually or teaching Food For Life workshops in community or corporate settings, Betsy helps  busy people get nourished, thrive and flourish on a plant-based diet.

I see you: My thoughts to you, the parent sitting in the lobby of the eating disorder treatment center, waiting to check your child in,

September 11, 2020

I was struck one day by the look on a moms face who I saw at a local treatment center where why daughter is. While I was dropping off some things for her, there was a mom and her son waiting in the lobby as I walked in. I caught the moms eye, behind the mask, as I was walking out. So many feeling came over me as I returned to the car.

She looked afraid. She looked lost. She looked like she needed someone to talk to.

Once I got to my car, I recorded this.

As parents we need help and support while our children are struggling. When they are admitted to a center, this is a perfect time for you to get some help.

I encourage you to reach out. and find a therapist, find a support group or speak with someone at your church.
